Functions
Regulatory Affairs:
- Develop, promote, implement best practices and institutionalise Regulatory Affairs in the company, including: national and international chemical legislation, product safety and sustainability.
- Monitor new regulatory trends in the F&F sector to determine the potential impact on the organisation’s processes, and oversee technical documentation to ensure compliance.
- Ensure responses to regulatory agencies in relation to information or challenges caused in the commercialisation of products.
- Provide regulatory guidance, advice and training to departments to validate the correct marketing of products, as well as communicate applicable regulatory information to the departments involved ensuring that the information is correctly interpreted.
- Develop operational procedures and create, manage and review the Regulatory Affairs department databases (Alfresco, Advisor, Chem-SD, SAP…).
- Ensure the know-how of the department is updated and documented.
- Manage internal and external activities such as product audits, customer audits or regulatory agency inspections.
- Coordinate regulatory submissions from national and international customers and manage approval procedures for fragrance and flavour ingredients globally.
- Contribute to the development or implementation of the business unit’s corporate and operational strategic plans, identifying risks and opportunities.
- Design and lead digital transformation processes.
- Identify training needs within the team.
- Investigate internal and external product complaints and prepare documentation and submissions to relevant regulatory bodies as required.
- Actively represent the company in industry associations.
- Actively participate in the selection processes of the department’s staff ensuring that candidates meet the criteria set by the company.
Sustainability:
- Coordination and periodic evaluation of strategic sustainability objectives.
- Research and analysis of ESG trends, practices and tools, and assessment of their possible suitability for Lluch Essence.
- Ensuring the implementation of strategies to address various environmental concerns.
- Design, develop and implement Lluch Essence’s Sustainability and ESG strategy.
- Coordination of the corporate social responsibility team.
- Define sustainability and ESG management systems in the organisation in a cross-cutting manner.
- Manage and implement the organisation’s energy practices and policies in compliance with the requirements established by ISO 50001.
- Coordination of internal and external audits to obtain and maintain ISO 50001 certification.
- Designing, drafting and implementing sustainable organisational policies that address the environmental and social concerns of the organisation.
- Reporting and presentation of new proposals to management, board of directors and other stakeholders as required.
- Prepare required project funding documentation for environmental initiatives, including local or international grant proposals and applications.
- Assess compliance with all local, state and internal environmental laws and regulations.
- Be part of the Food & Feed Fraud & defense team.
- Comply and ensure compliance with the general and specific rules, procedures and instructions for occupational and environmental risk prevention, Food Safety or GMP’s, as well as promote them in your area and work place.
- To know and apply the Emergency Plan. In the event of detecting any situation of risk to people, facilities, the environment or food safety, report it immediately.
- Ensure the correct segregation of waste.
- Comply with the policies and procedures both general and specific to the position, as well as ensuring the performance of all tasks within the scope to facilitate the achievement of the company’s objectives.
Requirements
EDUCATION
• University Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE
- Specific knowledge in Halal, Kosher and organic certification (CCPAE, ECOCERT…).
- Courses, Workshops and Conferences related to Regulatory Affairs in the F&F and Product Safety sector (CLP, REACH, GHS, Poison Center Notifications…).
COMPLEMENTARY KNOWLEDGE
- Master or postgraduate degree in Toxicology, safety and transport of chemical products or cosmetics and dermocosmetics.
- Specific knowledge of applicable regulations.
- Hazard knowledge for transport hazard classification.
- Data processing and computer tools (MS Office, digital edition, web search, databases, etc.).
- Postgraduate qualification in Perfumes and Fragrances, Market and Applications or Isipca.
- Specific training in the implementation of ISO 50001 or equivalent certifications in energy management.
